I married a filipina after processing the paperwork in 2006. One of the required forms is “proof of support”, to include the income tax returns. If she can’t prove that she has income (and insure the government that you won’t immediately have to go onto welfare), it’s not likely that you will be approved.

Your income does not matter. The only income that matters is that of the US citizen who petitions you. She needs to show earnings of at least $18,200 per year. If she does not earn this much then she can get a family member or friend, who does earn enough, to act as a co-sponsor.

your income does not matter but yourfuture husband must prove that he makes 125% above the poverty line here papers are not hard just takes time we went thru it in 2005

You might have a slim chance of getting approved on your K-1 visa application.Being able to financially support you when you get here is a basic requirement.It might be wise if she will try to find a stable job first.If her income will not be enough to meet the 125% Poverty Line requirement she can ask her parents or relatives to co-sponsor you.Besides, even if you hurdle the K-1 visa process you will be facing again the same problem when you apply for Adjustment of Status (green card) because her income tax return for the last 3 years will again be needed.
