If you have a college degree, maybe you can teach English.

Employmaent is really a nightmare in the Philippines. If you can find one, I’m not sure if you’ll get enough pay to support your family. But since you are an immigrant, I think you can try to contact Dept. of Labor. They can help you but most surely it takes a while.

gee wiz dude you and me both have the same thinking i bet,let me guess you want to live a simpler life there with your wife, well i do to but the reality is jobs are hard for even them to find with college degrees they end up working in mcdonalds and they require college at most low paying jobs and only hire the young. for entry level jobs with the public. and i think its not possible for americans to work in the philippines unless you are a citizen and i dont think they let anyone do that unless you retire there with 75,000 dollars into philippines bank. so thats out of the question for me and you both i think, now i think we could open a business in our wifes names
and seceretly help her run it or run it from the shadows but i’m not sure of the legal aspect of that plan. its easy to open a store for your wife there, that is a side of the street shop for clothes and goods like a general store in the U.S. 30 years ago. if you got any ideas let me know seriously my fiancee is there and expecting our first child together i’d like to live there but its only possible for me to keep my job here and support her there until she comes here on visa which is taking a while. good luck buddy. and
    God bless.

dude,,are you serious? im a filipino,, but im seriously advicing you not to live in the philippines if you have a greener pasture there in your country,.. its so hard here! but for the sake of answering your question,..

heres some list on what possible job/business you can land/have here,.

    1. call center has been a growing industry here in the philippines for the past few years,., since you have no problem in speaking english clearly,.,, for sure you can land a job as a cell center agent,.. and maybe if your good,, you can be a manager or a supervisor in no time,.

    2. since you have a lot of money,, ( considering dollar to peso exchange rate),. you can just put up a business here,,. computer shop is a profitable business nowadays here,.. if you hit a good location for your business,. your going to make a lot of money

    thanks dude,, and goodluck,..Ü

I believe that filipinos earn around $20-$30 per week on average,
jobs are hard to find for the filipinos, and it will be extra hard
for a foreigner to find a job, that pays enough to support both of
you to the extent that you’d feel comfortable as a foreigner.

Most foreigners that have a job in the Philippines were given the
job from a company while in their homeland. You may want to
inquire with companies in the country where you live that
currently have operations within the Philippines about any job
openings that they may have or anticipate having in the future.

You could set-up an Internet business in your homeland, and
use that business in your homeland to finance your lifestyle
in the Philippines. As far as starting a business within the
Philippines, it can be done.. but like any business, it takes
a certain type of person to run a successful business.

If you go over to the Philippines in search of a job, it is going
to be very hard to almost impossible to find one over there.

    1. Railroad network in the Philippines is under the goverment. If you want to apply to a government owned and controlled conpany. you will be having a hard time because there is a lot of anomalies during application, They usually favor those who are close to them like their relatives.
    2. You need legal papers from your countries embassy, a work permit/working visa maybe that gives you permission to work here. If you are a foreigner and you do not have a college degree, you will earn just like an ordinary Filipino. minimum wage of P350 pesos or US$ 7 only !
    3. The best thing that a can advise you is to invest in a business 100 thousand pesos is enough capital. That is what the Chinese and Indians migrants did here. I personally know a lot of them that started very poor, but now they are multi millionaires and even billionaires. You have to really work hard!
    4. For your information, here are the only choices of jobs that get millionaire here . Movie actor, basketball player, boxer, billiard player, businessman, politician and policeman. You choose.

Better think not only 2x, but more! I am a Filipino American, college graduate! Many Filipinos are going to the USA for greener pastures.
Filipino teachers are working as domestic helpers in Hongkong because they earn more there. Some of them go to the USA to work as teachers also.
Fiipino nurses are going to different places in the world such as Asia, London, Middle East, USA! Mind you, not only nurses, doctors are going into the nursing course & already in the USA. They are already contended in their status in the Philippines, however, they want to save the future generation.
Filipino pharmacists are now going to the USA, Canada and Australia for greener pastures where they will earn not only double but more than what they are presently earning.
Filipino pilots are also working abroad for the future of their families.
The Philippines is a great place to live when you retire but not when you are in the working age group! We have a great place for vacations! Filipinos are leaving the Philippines despite their homesickness for the welfare of their family.
Railroad construction deals with politicians because most projects are approved by their office. You should know that Philippine government from the lowest political position to the highest positions in the land are mostly corrupt! This is the reason why the Philippines is still a 3rd world country despite its resources & citizens who are college graduates!

As a foreigner in the Philippines you are forbidden by law to work there in ANY capacity. Unless……you set up a business there that employs Filipinos then you can be their boss. If you think you are not rich in the USA or whichever country you come from working as a groundskeeper, your present income is actually 10-50 times more than what a landscaper or RR conductor earns in the Philippines. Such a job in the Philippines will have you , in no time, living in squalor, compared to your present job. That is reality for millions of Filipinos, some of them are hardworking and very well educated.

I would rather stay where you are and just bring your wife to your country.

    man put up a business…
Philippines is a good place to live but not good place to find good job…you can find a job here but you must be a filipino citizen like my friend he married a filipina also.

    my 2 cents..
